Wax Idols
Wax Idols
Oakland's Wax Idols are born out of discontent and it lends itself to their style of punk. With high-pitched fuzzy vocals, heavily distorted guitars and staccato style beats, the attitude of irreverence comes through sure and strong. Lead singer-songwriter Heather Fedewa is the sole proprietor of this shop of tightly woven noise effects. After getting kicked out of several other Bay Area bands, she decided to start her own little project that would kick ass enough for her to maintain complete creative control. And with this control she has created her own little mischievous kingdom.

M Is We
M Is We
M is We is a project led by Michael Wood (Something About Vampires And Sluts, The Wet Teens) since 2004. Starting as an experimental solo project it morphed into a full band in Myrtle Beach fusing elements of indie pop & new wave. However, after relocating to Carrboro, NC Wood found himself solo again & recreating the project on his own.
On this self-titled EP, M is We, the music is lo-fi electro-clash. Influenced by post punk, new wave, & darkwave as well as experimental music, the songs have maintained pop sensibilities while remaining raw & immediate. The reverb drenched & distorted vocals are anthems of isolation & escape, of fires & rebirth. Sing along, feel the heat, & find something to burn.
