WINFIELD is a Chapel Hill, NC based
band formed in early 2017. Their music
combines the energy of vintage indie rock
and the textures of dream pop with the
dissonance & introspection of the goth/
post-punk movement. Citing Johnny Marr
(The Smiths), Peter Hook (Joy Division,
New Order), Daniel Ash (Bauhaus, Love
and Rockets), The Cure, and Lush as
influences, there is a welcome familiarity to
their sound.
In 2018, Victoria Roy (vocals), Brad Prenda
(guitar, vocals), Kent Corley (bass) and
David Bunch (drums) entered the studio
with producer Scott Solter (Mountain
Goats, Superchunk, Spoon, St. Vincent) to
record their 7-song debut, GIANT.
The band’s name was established when
Victoria and David discovered that not
only were they shipped off to the same
Virginia military high school, but they also
shared the same obscure middle name,
WINFIELD is currently promoting their
latest release GIANT and booking shows
around the Southeastern U.S.
